The Trisagion (Qadishat aloho, ܩܕܝܫܬ ܐܠܗܐ, "Holy are you, O God") is the thrice-holy hymn sung near the start of the Holy Qurbono, right after the priest venerates the altar . In the West Syriac tradition it is addressed to Christ, and includes the added line "who were crucified for us," a clause traced to Patriarch Peter the Fuller of Antioch . Priest and people sign themselves with the cross each time that line is sung .
